Ruins of the largest castle in Devon, perched above the River Okement, providing a range of lovely woodland walks and picnic areas. Built after the Norman Conquest it fell into disrepair after the last owner fell out with Henry VII.

Free car parking. Okehampton train station is less than a mile from the site but trains only stop on Sundays during summer, so please check timetables before travelling. Local bus routes X9, 510, 599, 178 and 318 all stop near Okehampton Castle.
