Fine artist who creates delicate, realistic painted images of Scottish wildflowers.
Flowers are a central subject for artist Kirsty Lorenz, who has long incorporated them into her work and has adopted them as the main subject of her ‘Votive Offerings’ series. These are painted images of Scottish wildflowers which she creates in her unusual studio on platform 2 at the still-functioning Ladybank Station, which used to be the station restaurant. The Goldsmiths College graduate and former Hospital Arts coordinator for Artlink Edinburgh hosts an open studies event here in May, as well as selling by appointment and exhibiting in venues such as Edinburgh’s Royal Scottish Academy and Glasgow’s Mitchell Library.
