Opened in 1980, Merseyside Maritime Museum has a focus on the city's seafaring heritage, with the collections highlighting Liverpool's role in the transatlantic slave trade and emigration, the merchant navy and the RMS Titanic.

The museum is free to visit and includes interesting objects from ship models and paintings to maritime archives and photographs. There is also a fun maritime-themed play area for kids, a cafe on the ground floor, a shop selling various gifts and a restaurant, the Maritime Dining Room, on the top floor.

The Merseyside Maritime Museum can be found on the waterfront close to Liverpool city centre and the Liverpool One complex. The nearest car parks are located in the Liverpool One complex opposite the entrance to the Albert Dock. Q-Park Strand Street has 2000 underground spaces, Q-Park Gradwell Street has 560 multi-storey spaces and Q-Park John Lewis has 580 multi-storey spaces.
