The Scottish Wildlife Trust, Falls of Clyde NNR is a spectacular reserve with three magnificent waterfalls and a suite of woodland walks that run along the river Clyde. Your visit starts at the New Lanark World Heritage Village where we have a small visitor centre with live webcams, spotters board and honey bee hive.
The reserve is famous for its waterfalls, breeding peregrines and badgers. During the spring and summer months we have a wildflower trail which showcases the variety of our woodland wildflowers. We also have a wide range of events including badger watches and Victorian guided walks. Our peregrine watch site boasts the closest views of wild breeding peregrines in the UK and our watch site is open daily from 10am–8pm from the end of March to the end of June.
The Clyde Walkway, which begins in Glasgow, passes through the reserve and ends at Bonnington Linn, the last of our three waterfalls. Access is very limited for wheelchair users due to steps and uneven terrain. There is a good network of paths, although their condition is very weather dependent. The visitor centre is fully accessible.
