Coventry Transport Museum opened in 1980 after the transport collection in the Herbert outgrew its space. The museum's current collection of vehicles focuses on British built vehicles and includes a DeLorean, the 500,000th Massey Ferguson tractor which was Coventry built and ThrustSSC, the world's fastest car.

There are pay and display car parks within walking distance and the museum is opposite Pool Meadow bus station.
