The Hull and East Riding Museum has some of the most spectacular natural history and archaeology displays in Britain, from a woolly mammoth to a prehistoric longboat hollowed from the trunk of an oak tree. You can walk through an Iron Age village or a Roman bath house, and the galleries take the story of the city from the Palaeolithic area down to 1642.
