Founded in 1788, Linen Hall is the oldest library in Belfast and the last subscribing library in Ireland. It is renowned for its Irish and Local Studies Collection and the Northern Ireland Theatre and Performing Arts Archive. The library also runs a programme of exhibitions, readings and lectures.
The Ulster Scots Agency host a Burns Night with language officer Gary Blair as the speaker. Ulster Scots Folk Band Stonewall perform some Burns related music and there is the obligatory Address to the haggis and piping. Booking is essential.
