Fire Station Creative
A former fire station transformed into a multi-purpose creative space with studios, gallery and café.
This elegant 1930s art deco building still shows some signs of its former life as the home of the Dunfermline Fire and Rescue Service. However, inside, the story is different. A ground floor gallery plays host to changing exhibitions of art and media while the upstairs floors have been divided into studios and let to local creatives including painters, jewellers, photographers and textile artists. An art therapy studio is used by several community groups while the first floor classroom offers a broad range of classes, from mindfulness and pilates to portfolio development and chocolate tasting. The café is a popular hangout, serving coffee and cake, lunches, weekend brunches and – on Friday and Saturday nights – tasting platters and cocktails.
