The Lyric Theartre is the only full-time producing theatre in Northern Ireland and has premiered the works of playwrights including Stewart Parker, Martin Lynch, Marie Jones and Christina Reid. As well as theatre productions they also host a creative learning programme for adults, children, amateurs and professionals.

The theatre is a 30 minute walk (2.5km) from Belfast city centre and there are bike racks available at the front of the building. Parking is available along the Stranmillis Embankment, the closest bus stop is 200m from the theatre at the junction of the Stranmillis Road and Ridgeway Street and the nearest railway station is Botanic Avenue, 0.9 miles away (17min walk).
