This smart, glass-fronted building provides a base for many community organisations in this former mining town. A 424-seat theatre plays host to touring bands, stage shows and comedians as well as productions by local theatre and dance groups. A dance studio and sports hall are available for activities from ballet to badminton. The Fifespace gallery has a changing programme of visual art exhibitions, and the building also houses the Jennie Lee library, named for the Lochgelly-born MP who played a leading role in the foundation of the Open University. Lilly’s Café is a light and welcoming space serving a range of light meals and snacks at decent prices, as well as providing a bar service on show nights.
