Micklegate House is not only ideally located, within a few minutes walk of the railway station, with all the facilities you would expect of a great hostel…. it offers you the opportunity to stay in a superb Georgian mansion with a stone-flagged entrance hall, grand sweeping staircase, original panelled rooms, vaulted cellars and a fabulous rococo ceiling featuring Shakespeare s head. Built in 1752, Micklegate House is said to be the most important Georgian residence south of the River Ouse. We have a variety of rooms, ranging from doubles up to 10 bed dorms. From the 1st June 2015 our continental breakfast will be improved greatly with a wider selection. However it will no longer be free and will have an additional cost of £4.00. Come, stay and have a great time at one of the most historical Georgian houses in York!
