Boasting panoramic views of Lake Windermere and the fells, Blenheim Lodge sits peacefully upon Brant Fell, nestling contentedly against organic fields and woodlands, with easily accessible local walks and viewpoints that offer both panoramic and 360-degree views. Our hilltop location in the heart of the Lake District National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, offers the best of both worlds: our 4-Star Bed and Breakfast is only 2-5 minutes' walk to Bowness centre and the shores of Lake Windermere with all their various attractions (including the iconic Windermere Cruises), activities, shops, pubs, cafes, teashops, and other amenities, and yet is also tucked into organic open fell and quiet walks right at the back of our 1868 refurbished Victorian house. Blenheim Lodge has its own car park for guests, and is ideally situated also for easy access to all parts of the stunningly beautiful Lake District National Park.
Guests staying at Blenheim Lodge will find a friendly welcome at our family house and home. We offer a quiet retreat within tranquil surroundings and 10 of our rooms offer views - some panoramic - of Lake Windermere and the fells. One room offers pretty views of the fields and woodlands of Brant Fell, where The Dales Way Walk is located. For this reason, Blenheim Lodge is perfectly situated for Dales Way walkers whether they make Bowness their starting or finishing point, since The Dales Way is a literal half to 1-minute stroll from our front door.
Blenheim Lodge has 11 guest rooms, 10 with shower en-suties, and 1 with a private bathroom boasting a deep clawfoot slipper bath and handheld shower. We love antiques here, and do our best to incorporate furniture and furnishings which fit in with the age and character of our guest house. We have different styles of rooms, including 3 single rooms and a total of 7 double rooms, and one which can be used for double, twin, or triple occupancy. Two of the double rooms have antique silk-draped 4-posters. Each bedroom is unique in style. ALL our beds are topped with thick, high-end, pocket sprung mattresses and dressed with quality bedding. All our bedrooms are equipped with tea and coffee-making facilities, assorted toiletries, hair dyer, flat screen digital television and radio.
Breakfast is served in a characterful dining room complete with a Victorian fireplace and original kitchen bells, and newly refurbished with bespoke oak furniture on sanded oak floors. Ingredients are sourced locally from a family butchers where two brothers hand craft and link individual sausages and hand cure and slice bacon made on the premises, before delivering them freshly made to our door. Blenheim Lodge also has a bright and cosy welcoming guest lounge offering stunning views of Lake Windermere and the fells. We enjoy offering guests a welcoming cuppa and biscuits in the lounge on arrival, and helping them to feel at home. Wireless broadband is available, and one of us is able to converse a little in Chinese, Cantonese, and Hokkien.
