Bishop's Waltham Palace
The ruins of a medieval palace that once belonged to the Bishops of Winchester – there was only one Bishop of Winchester at a time, but each one passed it along to his successor. Mary I stayed here before her marriage, and it was destroyed after the Civil War. The palace is now a scheduled ancient monument, and the ground floor of the farmhouse is now the Bishop's Waltham Town Museum.
The nearest train station is Botley, three and a half miles away, and the venue is served by Stagecoach route 69.
