National Museum Cardiff

National Museum Cardiff is a museum and art gallery in Cardiff, Wales. The museum is part of the wider network of Amgueddfa Cymru – National Museum Wales. It was founded in 1905.

Art became a stronger focus in 2011 with the creation of the National Museum of Art. In particular it has a fine collection of 20th century and contemporary art. 20th century work includes sculptors, Jacob Epstein, Herbert Ward and Eric Gill, painters Stanley Spencer, L. S. Lowry, and Oskar Kokoschka. Nature Morte au Poron by Pablo Picasso was acquired in 2009.

Contemporary artists with works in the collection include Luke Jones, Francis Bacon, Frank Auerbach and Rachel Whiteread.
