Kinloch Woodworks & Gallery
Modern sculptural elements combine with traditional furniture forms in this high-end craftsman's workshop and gallery.
Furniture maker extraordinaire Max McCance works with hardwoods to create legacy works of functional art. After training and working in Italy and the USA, he established his Fife workshop in 1995 and now displays his pieces in the adjoining gallery space. His creativity is built on the highest standards of quality and craftsmanship. Taking inspiration from natural forms and fusing them with modern construction techniques, McCance is a leading proponent of 'technorganic' design. His creations are clean, strikingly modern and gorgeously tactile: a teak and oak stool rests on delicate pincer-like feet, while a spiralling table column mimics the helix structure of DNA. Commissions are welcome.
