A left-handed jumps racecourse overlooked by the Welsh hills, Bangor-on-Dee racecourse is the only one in the country not to have a grandstand. There have been races run here since 1859 and trainers such as Paul Nicholls, Alan King and Phillip Hobbs have regular runners at Bangor-on-Dee.
The racecourse is 25 minutes from Chester and well signed on the A483 southbound. Also approached from the M6 and M54 (j3), then the A1 to Whitchurch and the A525 towards Wrexham.
Wrexham General is the closest train station to the racecourse and regular free buses run on racedays.
