Named in honour of jazz legend Bix Beiderbecke, this informal restaurant offers an extensive menu of pasta, pizza and a good range of burgers. It’s the fusion American-Scottish flavours that really stand out though, with dishes like prawn gumbo and a vegetarian Cleveland medley alongside Caledonian pie which mixes steak, haggis and a Glayva sauce. Their stir-fries are a house speciality, and there's a children’s menu available for under 10s.
Beiderbeckes Bistro can be best described as a cosy, colourful restaurant that offers its customers a large variety of quality meals at refreshingly reasonable prices. The seating is split into sections giving a change of scenery from one visit to the next. One summer evening, you may be sitting on the front balcony next to the window with the sunset giving everything a yellowy glow then one rainy, miserable day, you can be seated in the larger section at the back, dappled in blue light from small spotlights and red flickering candles, surrounded by mirrors, plants, pictures of old jazz singers and Bix Beiderbecke himself. With classy music, friendly staff and a great atmosphere, Beiderbeckes is an ideal choice for an enjoyable meal.
