Harpenden Public Halls

Harpenden Public Halls is set on the edge of Harpenden Common, close to the town centre and train station. We are recognised as being the hub of the community and host everything from pre-school activities, educational programmes, dance classes, antiques fairs and NHS blood donor sessions to a wide variety of club events.

Our entertainment programme is extremely varied and regularly hosts world-class touring performers, tribute acts, comedy, children’s shows, theatre productions, schools concerts, an annual Christmas Panto as well as an excellent film programme hosted by the Harpenden Film Society.

Both of our rooms are available for hire. The smaller Southdown Room is a more intimate space and can hold 120 persons, whilst the larger Eric Morecambe Hall can seat a maximum of 400 seated or 600 standing.

It is an ideal venue for all types of functions ranging from wedding receptions to parties and wakes as well as conferences, talks and is often used as a film location.

We have a licensed bar and a professional kitchen which is also available for use.
