Apex, a multi-arts venue and community meeting place housed in the Arc shopping centre, first opened in 2010 and has since played host to a diverse programme of rock, folk, blues, country and classical concerts, plus a wide range of comedy events. Local groups use the space for chess clubs, craft fairs and dance classes, among other activities. In addition, Apex houses an art gallery.

Apex is located two minutes from the main bus station and ten minutes from Station Hill train station.
