St Stephen Walbrook
A place of worship dating back to the Romans with a evidence of a Christian church on the site from 1090. Sadly the church was burnt to the ground during the Great Fire of London in 1666. Work on the new church, designed by Sir Christopher Wren, began in 1672 with the steeple finally completed in 1717. English composer John Dunstable is buried at St Stephen Walbrook. An alter designed by sculptor Henry Moore was installed in 1987.
Bank and Cannon Street London Underground stations are both within easy walking distance of St Stephen Walbrook. Local bus routes include 76, 133, 141, 242 and 344.
