This is a family-friendly museum with a strong focus on Scottish art. Kirkcaldy Galleries is home to the largest collections of McTaggart and Peploe paintings outside the National Galleries of Scotland and also features a number of works by local hero Jack Vettriano. A programme of temporary exhibitions adds to the appeal. The ground floor holds an award-winning museum exhibition of artefacts, photographs and film, telling the story of the area from 300 million years ago to the present day. There’s also a local and family history room, a café with views over the War Memorial Gardens and a varied programme of events and talks throughout the year.

Kirkcaldy Galleries offers visitors a library, museum, art gallery, local & family history room, Visit Scotland information desk, cafe, gift shop and children's areas – all under one roof.
