The British Academy of Film and Television Arts has been championing film and TV since 1958, when the British Film Academy merged with the Guild of Television Producers and Directors. The annual Bafta awards are widely recognised as marks of excellence within the screen industries, and since 1998 Baftas have also been awarded for video games and interactive media.
The Academy's headquarters at 195 Piccadilly functions as a venue for hire, with a large screening room (the Princess Anne Theatre) and several other suites available for corporate events, celebrations, weddings, interviews and launch parties; besides the in-house catering, kosher and Asian catering can also be provided.
The nearest Tube stations are Piccadilly Circus (Bakerloo/Piccadilly) and Green Park (Jubilee/Piccadully/Victoria), and there are NCP car parks in nearby Carrington Street, Brewer Street and Grosvenor Hill.
