The Harley Gallery

The Harley Gallery is home to the historic Portland Collection of fine and decorative art. Displays from this internationally significant collection are accompanied by exhibitions from leading contemporary artists.

Additional attractions include events, ranging from tours of the State Rooms at Welbeck Abbey to meeting craftspeople at the Open Studios, a café serving homemade meals and snacks, shop specialising in contemporary crafts, and children’s activity area.

Situated on the picturesque Welbeck Estate in Nottinghamshire, The Harley Gallery is easily reached from the A1 and M1.

Brick Wonders - Ancient, Modern & Natural Wonders made in LEGO® bricks

Warren Elsmore has recreated the Seven Wonders of the world and more using only standard LEGO® bricks. His 2015 ‘Brick City’ exhibition was a celebration of some of the world’s favourite buildings built from LEGO brick pieces. In 2017 Warren Elsmore returns to The Harley Gallery with ‘Brick Wonders’.

Echoes from Portraits in The Portland Collection In 2013 Sophie won the BP Travel Award at the National Portrait Gallery’s BP Portrait Award exhibition. She used the award to research 17th century portraiture and was fascinated by the incredibly detailed representation of rich fabrics and lace.
