Named after the Rochdale singer, actress and comedian Dame Gracie Fields the theatre was opened in 1978 by Gracie herself. The programme offers a mix of theatre, dance, comedy and live music, both contemporary and classical. The venue is home to Rochdale Amateur Operatic Society who perform a wide variety of productions and raise money for local charities. Gracie Fields Theatre also sponsor Rochdale Youth Orchestra who hold their annual Christmas concert at the venue.
There is a lounge bar on the first floor serving drinks and a ground floor kiosk selling light refreshments, snacks and ice cream.
Rochdale Train Station is 2.35 miles from the Gracie Fields Theatre and parking is free of charge.
