O2 Academy Leeds
The O2 Academy Leeds' Grade I listed building is a majestic hunk of Victorian Gothic, opening as the Coliseum in 1885 and originally an all-purpose theatre/meeting house/circus venue. It morphed into a cinema in the 20s and a bingo hall in the 60s before becoming the Town and Country Club in 1992. Since 2007 it's been run by Academy Music Group, hosting international acts in the main auditorium and local bands in the Underground space.
The nearest train station is Leeds, about 15 minutes' walk down Park Row. The nearest car parking is at Woodhouse Lane and the Rose Bowl Car Park around the back of the venue on Portland Crescent. Local buses stop on Caverley Street, Woodhouse Lane, Portland Way and Albion Street.
