Receiving house with a capacity of 1066 (after the date of the famous local battle), hosting touring shows including opera, ballet, musicals and children's shows.
The former East Sussex Hospital was replaced by the theatre in 1927 and opened by Edward, Prince of Wales.
Past performers inlcude Motörhead, Russell Brand, Hot Chocolate, Eartha Kitt, Al Murray, Geri Halliwell, Jools Holland, Derren Brown, Ricky Tomlinson, Tim Vine and Greg Davies.
There is a cafe, stalls bar, circle bar and function rooms. There are a number of nearby car parks.
