West Yorkshire Playhouse
West Yorkshire Playhouse is one of the leading producing theatres in the North of England. It was established in 1990 when its predecessor, Leeds Playhouse, relocated as part of the regeneration of the Quarry Hill area. The theatre regularly stages original shows as well as receiving touring productions, and several of its own have transferred to the West End.
Besides its theatre work, West Yorkshire Playhouse also functions as a music venue and maintains a thriving outreach programme with initiatives such as the Playhouse Youth Theatre; First Floor, its city centre venue for young people; and school and college workshops.
