Swansea's Grand Theatre was opened in 1897 by the opera diva Adelina Patti, who had settled in the area, and for thirty years it was the city's chief entertainment venue. It faltered with the growing dominance of TV, but a multi-million pound restoration in the 1980s brought it back up to the highest technical standards and it now hosts touring shows, concerts, comedy and is the home of Fluellen Theatre Company, the Sir Harry Secombe Trust, Swansea Grand Theatre School of Drama and Musical Theatre and other organisations.

The nearest train station is Swansea, and the theatre is served by various local bus services.
