The current Prince of Wales Theatre is the second on the site; when construction began on the handsome Art Deco building in 1937, entertainer Gracie Fields sang to the workmen, which goes to show what a loose interpretation of 'health & safety' they had in those days. It's mostly been a venue for comedy and musicals, most notably Aspects of Love, Mamma Mia! and The Book of Mormon.

The nearest Tube is Charing Cross (Northern / Bakerloo) and the theatre is served by bus routes 14, 19 and 38.

  • Open since: 1937
