Milton Keynes Theatre
It took Milton Keynes 25 years to get its own theatre but the result, designed chiefly by Blonski-Heard, is a sensitively-designed modernist treat. The auditorium has a movable ceiling, enabling it to be re-scaled for both intimate drama and big musicals, and punters praise the wide corridors, accessible facilities and friendly staff.
The theatre hosts touring plays, musicals, dance shows, comedy, ballet and opera as well as community productions and owners Ambassadors Theatre Group offer their Creative Learning department to encourage local people to get involved in theatre. Backstage tours are also available.
The theatre features several bars, minimising queuing time, and the cocktail bar features live piano. Early bird meals are available, and for those who can't watch a show without ice cream, at least some of it is locally sourced.
