Iain Burnett, the 'Highland Chocolatier', opened this 4-star visitor attraction in 2011 next to his established Legends of Grandtully café and gift shop. Exhibitions lead you through the production of chocolate from cacao plantation to Iain's kitchen, and his elaborate chocolate sculptures are on display – escorted tours can be pre-arranged. The Chocolate Lounge serves luxurious baking and hot drinks, and the full range of Iain Burnett chocolates are, of course, on sale, along with a wide range of gifts and homewares. Distinctive and beautifully printed, Burnett is best known for his trademarked multi-award winning Velvet Truffles, and smartly packaged boxes are filled with truffles in flavours including caramelised white chocolate with liquorice, or nutty, fruity and spiced pralines. The huge range covers everything from whole clementines enrobed in chocolate to glossy flavoured or single origin bars, as well as a wide range of pralines developed to pair with fine tea, champagne and whiskies. As well as the Perthshire and online shops, the Highland Chocolatier's range can also be bought from a second store in St Andrews which opened in spring 2014.

If you’re coming out to Grandtully, then you’ve likely got only one foodstuff on your mind, but let yourself be tempted by some of the savoury (and sweet) offerings at the café adjoining Iain Burnett’s luxury confectionery shrine visitor centre too. Busily decorated with vintage and quirky ornaments and hanging plants, light pouring in through a glass ceiling, it’s at once exotic and homely. A platter of Ayrshire ham, Lockerbie cheddar, oatcakes and apple and pear chutney gives a good cross-section of Scottish produce, while the same ingredients and others like them go into their filled baguettes, panini and homemade soups. The coffees are freshly brewed by trained baristas, while their hot chocolates – either rich and dark or milky white – are made with real Belgian chocolate.
