Earlier this year I, as a local resident who supports local business' was excited to see a fresh fashion outlet, saw an item I liked whilst in-store. I returned later and agreed to place a 50% deposit until they had a suitable box available, to which I obliged. On return, I was shocked and dismayed to discover that the price had escalated from £85 to £280. The explanation offered was that they were young designers who had made a mistake on stock which wasn't their own design, and could not afford this mistake. I had a receipt which clearly stated I had £45 to pay, having already placed a £40 deposit.
I tired to negotiate with them but found this difficult as appointments were not kept, displaying a clear lack of value in their customers. The contract was terminated without my negotiation when the deposit was refunded back onto my card. I had entered the contract in good faith and was treated shabbily.
The condescending, haphazard management and customer service experienced left me with no means to reply other than via online review.
