Not your typical London live venue, Cafe Oto is for the adventurous, hosting live performances by the likes of anti-folk singer Diane Cluck, Hungarian composer Ákos Rózmann, and all manner of world, free-improvised and experimental music. It boasts a shop that sells CDs by Derek Bailey and books by Cornelius Cardew, and by day its café serves contemporary Persian food from cook Soli Zardosht (signature dish: saffron orange chicken.) The cafe closes at 5.30pm only on days when there's an evening performance, to give time for a soundcheck; on both concert and non-concert days, the bar is open until 12.30am.

The nearest Tube stations are Dalston Kingsland and Dalston Junction (Overground), and the nearest bus routes are 30, 38, N38, 67, 76, 149, N149, 56, 277 and 242.
