The Coliseum was built in 1937 with the aim to 'contribute materially to the happiness, recreation and enjoyment of the mining community of Trecynon’. Since then it's been home to many productions of theatre and opera as well as regular films. The latest releases sit comfortably in an art deco venue with unique friezes in the auditorium and foyer. As a live venue, the Coliseum also once played host to a gig by little-known local band The Stereophonics before they were signed.

The Freddie Mercury story. Malek as Mercury does a great job, with a passionate and impressive performance, but despite the recreation of momentous performances it’s a disappointingly tame affair, with a by-the-numbers screenplay and a bland lack of insight into Mercury’s heritage or sexuality.

Willis plays a cop who attends a tower block Christmas party with his estranged spouse. The building is raided by terrorists, so it's left to Willis to bump off the baddies and save the hostages while the police and FBI languish ineptly on the sidelines. Unbearably tense actioner that gets good mileage out of yawning…
