  • UK release: 25 April 2019

Five years after Thanos’s victory, the Avengers are in despair until Ant-Man (Rudd) kicks the story back into action. The final film in the saga verges on fanservice, but there’s intelligent character development, everyone (except Johansson) is given enough to do, and some arcs have a truly poignant sense of closure.

Kayla (Fisher) is an awkward teenager in her last week of grade school, who posts would-be inspirational vlogs while lacking confidence in daily life. Fisher is superb as the anxious, heroic Kayla and it’s a humane and sometimes hilarious debut from comedian-turned-filmmaker Burnham.

Frances (Moretz) is a young waitress trying to make her way in New York, whose life changes when she returns a found handbag to its owner, Greta (Huppert). Lali Puna

With Being Water Lali Puna refine their distinctive take on pop and electronics, pushing the boundaries towards classical songwriting. • Directed by: Paolo Sorrentino
  • Cast: Toni Servillo, Elena Sofia Ricci, Riccardo Scamarcio

Small-time pimp Sergio (Scamarcio) aims to enter the Eurotrashy world of Silvio Berlusconi (Servillo). Distilled from two films, this is a flashy, baroque wallow in sleaze, with Servillo capturing Berlusconi’s mannerisms yet managing to find the humanity in him. Sprawling and unexpectedly melancholy, it nevertheless only…
