Holnicote House lies at the heart of a 12,500 acre estate in the Exmoor National Park. Owned by the National Trust, this historic country house is set amidst peaceful gardens with an outdoor heated pool (open in the summer). There are 34 bedrooms in the main building and in cottages in the grounds. Facilities include two lounges, a dining room, bar and ballroom. The Exmoor National Park offers many excellent walking and cycling routes, many from the door of Holnicote House, with the opportunity to spot red deer and Exmoor ponies. Close by are the twin villages of Lynton and Lynmouth, connected by their Victorian cliff railway, and just a short walk from the fascinating Valley of Rocks. The beach at Minehead is popular with families, as is the West Somerset steam railway. Also nearby are several historic National Trust properties, including Dunster Castle. Communal dining at fixed dinner times.
