Big mistake Mr landlord.what a miserable man .
I had been for a walk with a baby in a pushchair and being a nice sunny winter day thought a nice coffee in the winter sunshine and watch the world go by for a few minutes . I opened the door to see how easy it was to get a pushchair in no sign of anyone , so decided to go in it was with a struggle still no sign of anyone , I realised I was by the bar and was startled to see someone there as I thought if there was anyone around they would offered help. I was the only person in the bar, I asked if it was possible to have coffee, all I got was a grunt it won't be long. I then tried to make conversation with the landlord, all he said was its a small village when I said I was limited as to where to go with a pushchair. I waited then for the coffee to arrive thinking why doesn't he say I will bring it to you ,
The land lady who I assume was the wife, did help and followed me out with the coffee. It was 12.15 I sat outside for 30mins, not one person went into the pub , I was very surprised as would of thought a little village pub would of had a few locals sat around the bar .
I can now fully understand why the pub was empty , I have been in the pub catering trade most of my working life, and always made my customers old and new welcome , it just takes one bad comment to ruin a business , if not too late wake up Mr landlord it's the public who pay your wages , I don't think I will be going back, as the coffee was tasteless and not very hot . Shame you could of made a effort and gained a few more regulars. Hey ho that's life.
