Located just five minutes from the famous market town of Melton Mowbray, Scalford Hall Hotel is a picturesque Edwardian country mansion originally built at the turn of the 20th century as a weekend hunting lodge for Major Mann Thompson, who was a close friend of Edward VIII. Their friendship was symbolised by Edward VIII s gift of an ornate fireplace that remains in Scalford Hall to this day. In 1944, Colonel Colman, the founder of Colman s Mustard, purchased Scalford Hall and lived happily with his family until 1969. Set amongst 8 acres of carefully landscaped gardens in the heart of the Leicestershire countryside, our magnificent country house complements the relaxed surroundings with excellent service and hospitality.
