We stayed at the D&P hotel on 12th June for one night.
Our problems started as soon as we walked into the dingy and dark reception, as this was when an unprofessional receptionist had the audacity to ask our disabled friend "What have you been doing to yourself."

It advertises free wifi, this can only be accessed around the bar area and is quite weak.

We were staying in rooms 1 & 10. When we entered room 10 we were met with a foul smell of rotten egg from the bathroom. This smell was so bad I had to get out of the bath and open the window because the smell was making me feel sick, it then remained open for the rest of our stay. We also found a dead fly on the toilet seat and noticed the terrible condition of the bathroom walls which seemed extremely unhygienic.

We ate at the bar, the problems with the food are as follows:
- white, anaemic looking chips
- no cutlery
- asked for food to arrive at same time, only half of our food arrived, had to re-request it some 15 minutes later
- butter too hard to spread - no knife provided
- extremely low quality bread, fell to pieces when tried to be buttered
- no salt, pepper or napkins. No sauces were offered
- extremely overpriced for quality of food

Senior member of staff seemed snotty when we had to ask where the rest of our food was.

We were directed to the receptionist to complain, when we did so he cut us off on many occasions therefore not allowing us to tell him everything we had to say. He did upgrade us to full English breakfast as an apology.

We then had to retune the entire TV when we returned to our room because only a few of the channels were working.

The next morning we noticed our clothes that we left out for the next day had become very damp.

At breakfast we asked for 4 English breakfasts, one with no egg. When it arrived it had a large portion of scrambled egg so we had to complain again. Then another one of the breakfasts had a large black hair in it! The breakfast to be cooked again, by the time it arrived everyone else had finished and the member of staff used the excuse that all of the chefs wear hats and had no idea where the hair came from. Again, no salt, pepper or sauces. The juice was very warm as well. This usually costs £5 to upgrade for 1 piece of sausage, bacon black pudding and egg and a few beans. All of which were of poor quality. Not worth the money!

Overall the room was nicely decorated, comfortable bed but extremely terrible service and overpriced, poor quality and HAIRY food! Wouldn't stay here again!
