Vaughan Williams: Songs of Travel
Schubert: Schwanengesang

James Gilchrist and Anna Tilbrook’s last visit to Milngavie gave us one of our most memorable ever vocal recitals, and with Schubert’s wonderful collection - ‘swansongs’ from the very end of his life - and Vaughan Williams’s moving RL Stevenson song cycle we can look forward to another superb evening with one of Britain’s most distinguished singers.

Engegard Quartet

Haydn: String Quartet in D minor Op 76 No 2
Grieg: String Quartet in G minor Op 27
Sibelius: String Quartet in G minor Op 27

Formed under the midnight sun in 2006, the Engegård Quartet has rapidly become one of Norway’s most sought after ensembles, performing across Europe and the Americas. As well as the ‘Fifths’ Quartet, one of Haydn’s masterly Op 76 set, the Engegårds bring an exciting calling card in Grieg’s dramatic quartet and close with another Nordic masterpiece, the only quartet that Sibelius composed in his maturity - intense, and very personal.

An all-Beethoven programme to celebrate his 250th Anniversary year. These three musicians, each an established soloist in his own right, came together to form one of the world’s finest piano trios. The epic sweep of the Archduke Trio, always a special event, brings the programme to a grand climax.
