Founded in 1178 for monks of the Tironensian order by King William the Lion, Arbroath Abbey is famous in Scottish history for its association with the Declaration of Arbroath. In this document of 1320, Scotland’s nobles swore their independence from England. A visitor centre provides an insight into the abbey’s history and includes an exhibition on the Declaration. The shop offers a range of products including gifts, books and souvenirs.

on looking at your site, I had looked up Arbroath Abbey. I work with Historic Environment Scotland, and would like you to update the prices stated for Arbroath Abbey please. these are very old and out of date. the current prices are as follows. £6.00 Adults, £4.80 Conc and £3.60 Child (5-15) under 5s are free. our times just now are April-Oct 9.30-5.00 last admission and in winter 10am - 4pm. I hope this can be changed thank you
