On the outskirts of the seaside neighbourhood of Newhaven, Edinburgh Sculpture Workshop has 15 studios, as well as wood and metal workshops and project and education spaces. It runs learning and professional development courses ranging from wood, metal and foundry workshops to Mac and Final Cut Pro sessions. In terms of artistic development, the Micro Residency programme allows participating artists to explore new ideas and processes out with their normal practice, benefiting from Edinburgh Sculpture Workshop’s facilities and staff support. It also encourages networking and peer critiques. Art collective FOUND participated in a micro-residency and subsequently won a Scottish BAFTA in 2009.
