The Woodman Inn
This traditional-style family run pub serves three well kept real ales, a number of keg beers and has a great selection of spirits including gins and malt whiskies.
With a pool table, dart board and various other games to choose from, there are plenty of things to keep you interested. There are also various activities and food / drink offers throughout the week and Saturday night, the singing Landlord, Mr Q hosts a top class karaoke from 8pm - the only one in Durham City.
Boasting the largest (and only proper) beer garden in Durham City, which has been beautifully re-landscaped and with plenty of seating at the rear of the pub, along with an outside TV for sporting features etc. It has also been awarded with sponsorship from 'Magners' to upgrade the garden even to which many say is the 'best beer garden in Durham', the best one within the area, if not the county. A vibrant, colourful, attractive and relaxing area and this is a massive attraction during the warmer months.
The pub offers a small, but good quality 'Light Bite' snack type menu from tea time, including Burgers & Muchos Nachos etc at very reasonable prices, the landlady also does a special 'Crock Pot' of the day - such as a stew or casserole which is very popular with locals and visitors alike! They also have a good pub snack range too.
Although there is no designated pub car park, it's usually possible to park on the street nearby free on a weekday evening/Sunday or in a nearby car park/
This is a friendly family-run pub offering a warm welcome to all its visitors and well worth a visit when in Durham.
