Drummond Castle is one of the most impressive Scottish castles, with its 15th century keep and 17th century mansion. The terraced gardens themselves are Category A listed a and although they were first laid out in the 1630s, they were spectacularly remodelled in the 1830s and are now regarded as a masterpiece of Victorian landscaping.

The Gardens of Drummond Castle were originally laid out in 1630 by John Drummond, second Earl of Perth. In 1830 the parterre was changed to an Italian style.
