Mellerstain House and Gardens
Mellerstain is one of Scotland’s finest stately homes.
The wings were designed by William Adam and bulit in 1725, and the central house by Robert Adam, William's son in 1778. It is the only complete Robert Adam buidling extant. The interior decoration and plasterwork are noted quality and the contents include pictures by Ramsay, Van Dyck, Ruysdael, Gainsborough, and other Old Masters.
Mellerstain is 8 miles north of Kelso.
The Borders Sculpture Park are in the grounds.
