Media Sales Executive

The Media Sales Executive will be responsible for growing revenues from a range of new and existing clients across the full range of media, promotional, publishing and event related activities which the company undertakes.

You’ll need to be exceptional at building relationships, spotting business opportunities and growing your business pipeline through planning and networking to create strategic plans to make a real difference to the businesses you work with. The role will require some travel in central Scotland and involve representing The List at a wide range of events.

Responsibilities of the Post

*Working with the Publishing Director and commercial team to develop and maintain new and existing business pipelines which deliver against sales targets
*Account management and optimisation of existing clients in order to maximise revenue
*Sourcing, negotiating and closing key sales within territories as defined by the Publishing Director
*Strong focus on developing new business relationships across the UK from both direct and agency sales
*Providing regular reports on revenue progress against targets and where necessary attending weekly revenue meetings
*Ensuring that efficient records are kept on client history and that bookings and invoicing details are communicated clearly to the accounts department
*Maintaining a professional service to all clients and resolving problems without loss of revenue or inventory
*Be available to represent The List at events and launches and be an ambassador for the company
*Assisting in any other aspects of work as required
*Keeping a strong knowledge of digital communications, and technology more broadly
*Having a confident, professional and articulate manner necessary to deal with well known brands, venues, promoters and agencies

Reporting Structure

The Media Sales Executive reports to the Publishing Director and will closely coordinate work between commercial & sponsorship, content and editorial teams.


Measurement of Effectiveness

*Performance against revenue is discussed weekly at the team meetings
*Informal discussions within the department also take place to discuss day-to-day progress

This role would suit someone keen to get into media sales and with the enthusiasm to learn from a competent team.
