The award-winning Edinburgh Farmers' Market takes place at Castle Terrace under the imposing backdrop of Edinburgh Castle. Over 60 specialist producers regularly attend the market, the majority primary producers, growing what they sell. A quarter offer meat products, including specialities such as venison (Hubertus Game, Seriously Good Venison) and water buffalo. Organic beef, chicken, lamb and pork are also available from Hugh Grierson, Gartmorn and Ballencrief Pork. Other types of produce include fish and shellfish from Creelers and Belhaven Smokehouse, Stichill Jerseys and Standhill Cheesery cheese, seasonal fruit & vegetables (Phantassie Organics) and Brewsters’ free-range eggs (including duck eggs), honey, chillies and plants. In addition you'll find producers who bake and prepare their own farm products. Guest producers provide specialities including organic beer, liqueurs, bread, chocolates and chutneys.
