Founded in 2003 by songwriters Tom Fairnie and Mark Barnett, Foakies is one of Edinburgh's most respected singer/songwriter and poetry evenings. Now joined by fellow songwriters Martin Stephenson; of Martin Stephenson and The Daintees, Simon Kempston and Stephen Harrison, it continues to provide a vital platform for songwriters and poets, be they famous, unknown, steeped in the tradition or stunningly original. In this series of concerts, Foakies swaps its Royal Oak home for the grandeur of St Cecilia's Hall, Scotland's oldest concert hall, in order to celebrate ten years of excellence with Tom, Mark, Martin, Simon and Stephen.
