Royal Society Summer Science Exhibition 2018

Discover a future vision of wooden skyscrapers, four-legged robots and cosmic civilisations at the Royal Society’s 2019 Summer Science Exhibition.

For just one week in July, the Royal Society’s annual Summer Science Exhibition (1 – 7 July 2019) offers a mind-blowing experience for anyone curious about humankind’s latest technological and scientific advances. This free blockbuster exhibition gives visitors unparalleled access to the researchers at the frontiers of science.

Hundreds of the world’s leading scientists will gather at the oldest scientific academy in the world to showcase 22 exhibits exploring the very latest advances in science. With a packed programme of thought-provoking talks, jaw-dropping demonstrations and entertaining family performances alongside the exhibits, there’s something for everyone.

Join us at the weekend for our family events programme. Be wowed by interactive shows that will take you on a journey to the Moon or the bottom of the ocean, get hands-on in our engineering makerspace, and find out what ketchup in a bottle of water has in common with a submarine from our roaming science buskers. In addition you’ll find a dedicated children’s area in the café for inquisitive young minds to experiment and play, with a child-friendly menu and buggy parking available all weekend long.

Don’t miss our afterschool family talks and workshops on Friday afternoon (2 – 6pm) covering topics from the minibeasts in your garden to how we can use the rubbish we would normally throw away to help people around the world.
