'About the Place' Poetry Brunch
*With Jo Burns, Maureen Boyle and Una Mannion. *
Following on from last years' highly successful Poetry Brunch in the Eel Fishery, do not miss this year's chance to join us for a very special afternoon of poetry and music.
Jo Burns, originally from Maghera, lives in Germany with her husband and three children. Jo won the Irish Writers Festival Shirley McClure Poetry Prize 2017, the Magma Poetry Competition 2018 and has been shortlisted for numerous other awards. Her pamphlet, Circling for Gods, was published by Eyewear Publishing in March 2018 and her first full collection White Horses by Turas Press in November 2018.
Una Mannion lives in County Sligo. She is the winner of the Doolin short story prize, Ambit Fiction Prize, Cuirt Short Story prize, Allingham short fiction prize and the Hennessy Emerging poetry award. Her work has been published in The Lonely Crowd, Bare Fiction, The Irish Times, Ambit and The Incubator.
Maureen Boyle is a poet who *has won various awards including the Ireland Chair of Poetry Prize in 2007 and the Strokestown International Poetry Prize in the same year. In 2013 she won the Fish Short Memoir Prize. Her second collection of poetry, *The Work of a Winter, has just been published by Arlen House.
For this unique poetic experience, the audience will be transported to a secret location in the landscape surrounding HomePlace for a special afternoon of poetry readings and music.
